On the last full day of your cruise, the Cruise Director will give detailed instructions about debarkation and clearing customs and immigration. I strongly suggest you attend this debarkation talk or watch the video on your in-stateroom TV. A debarkation letter should also be delivered to your stateroom with details for debarkation day.
There are 2 options for debarkation day. Carnival offers Checked Luggage Debark and Express Debark options.
Checked Luggage Debark
If you wish to “check-in” your luggage and have transferred from the ship to the port for you, where you can collect it, you’ll want to utilize this option. You’ll need to pick up zoned luggage tags based on the time you wish to get off the ship. The location of these tags is discussed during the debarkation talk. Tags are on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to pick up your tags early if you wish to have an earlier debarkation time. You’ll need 1 tag for each piece of checked luggage. Fill in each tag completely and keep the tear-off section for reference.
On the last evening of your cruise simply pack your bags and place them outside your stateroom door. There is a designated time during which luggage will be picked up and moved to a holding area. This will be explained during the debarkation talk. Be sure to keep out clothes to wear on debarkation day and a carry-on bag with you for any fragile, important, and valuable items. DO NOT pack your travel documents, as you will need them to leave the ship.
Upon arrival at the port, luggage will be unloaded and separated by zone number in the baggage claim area of the terminal. Guests must personally locate their luggage and either carry I out or use a porter.
Express Debark (Self Assist)
If you chose this option, you will be required to take ALLof your own luggage off the ship. Be sure to consider the size of your luggage and whether it can safely be maneuvered through stairs, hallways, and escalators throughout the ship and terminal. If you wish to carry off your own luggage DO NOT to use the zoned luggage tags or place luggage outside of stateroom on the last evening of the cruise.
Morning of Debarkation
Be sure to pay attention to the Cruise Director’s announcements on debarkation morning. There will be many important announcements made regarding the proper procedure to follow in order to leave the ship.
You MUSThave the following in hand in order to leave the ship:
- Sail & Sign card
